A Good Work: The Requirements Of A Bishop

Desiring the office of A bishop in itself is a good work. I can say with confidence that even if you know you do not meet these requirements it is a good work according to the word of God to do what you can of them. Such an example as if you are unmarried, should you desire the office of a Bishop as a young man?
YES, you should.
It is doing what you can following after a good work according to scripture. And it can only make you a better man of God to strive for such a mastery. But knowing you must do it lawfully, otherwise it is in vain.

1 Timothy 3:1 KJV
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2 Timothy 2:5 KJV
And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

And although these things are for a man... seeing that a bishop must be the husband of one wife, and a woman can not be a bishop. These requirements should give a young woman things to look for in a gentlemen caller. And she too has a part to play in a man meeting these requirements as it is written...

1 Timothy 3:11 KJV
Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

So everyone has something to learn from these studies as all the word of God is profitable for good works.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV
(16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(17)  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
