An Understanding Woman

An Understanding Woman
Proverbs 9:10 KJV The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Psalms 111:10 KJV The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

These studies have started with wisdom being personified as a woman. And with this we understand that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). Then from there we have what could be the 7 pillars that wisdom has hewn out (Proverbs 9:1)...or at the very least the children of wisdom (Luke 7:35).

Understanding
Prudence
Knowledge
Discretion...etc.

Today we are looking into what understanding has to do with the fear of the LORD which is the beginning of wisdom. We need to be reminded of the foundation for these studies because without the fear of the LORD you can not begin to have wisdom according to God's word.

We fear the LORD, and DO his commandment. An understanding woman will know that she has a different commandment then for a man. Some of those basic commandments is what we are getting into now.

CONCERNING GOD AND HIS CHURCH

I Timothy 2:11 KJV Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
I Corinthians 14:34 KJV Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

A woman of understanding will understand that she does not have a role of authority such as a bishop, deacon, elder, or pastor in the church. When the church is gathered together it is a shame for her to speak at all. This seems like a really simple thing to point out, but yet you have the women preachers like Beth Moore, Joyce Meyers, and Kathrine Krick who have heavy influence in the world today. These women have no understanding of what the scriptures say.

As true biblical women of God we should not desire to have the office of a bishop or deacon, but rather, help our husband to achieve that office. Afterall, it is a requirement that a deacon's (and how much more a bishop's) wife be faithful in all things.

I Timothy 3:11 KJV Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

HUSBAND

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

The first point of understanding a woman's role in the church leads right into this next point. The passage says, "...but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law." A woman of understanding will understand and obey (because she fears the LORD) the scriptures when they say the husband is the head of the wife. This means that a woman is to submit and be subject to her husband...in everything! Again, this seems simple, and in most cases, even nature teaches us that the man is the lead. But today there is a big misunderstanding about a woman's biblical role in the marriage. This is a time when female dominance and feminism has taken over. Some where along the line of time there was a Vashti that was not removed from her office!

CHILDREN

Proverbs 23:13 KJV Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Proverbs 22:15 KJV Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
Proverbs 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

An understanding mother will understand that she is commanded to use the rod on her children. There is often a misreading of the scriptures here and "Christian" mothers everywhere have changed the CORRECTION ROD for other disciplinary actions. Some of these include: standing in the corner, time out, taking away privileges, grounding, and even spraying their sons with lavender spray because "they don't like it". Or even worse, they have adopted the "Gentle Parenting" method where there is no chastisement but only "coaching" their children.

This study could get you started on that can of worms: https://videos.graftedbranchministry.org/w/v5d1PGxpmrZYxtP5JGinhg

There is no fear of the LORD in these women. Their understanding has been corrupted by the ways of the world. But as biblical women of God there is no denying what the scriptures say...use the rod! It might break your heart in the moment (Hebrews 12) but if you do not use the rod now, your child's disobedience and ticket straight to hell will break your heart for much longer.

Hebrews 12:11 KJV Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

HOME

Proverbs 14:1 KJV EVERY wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
Titus 2:3 KJV The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

The order of these points are very important. God first, then husband, children, and now the home. You can see all three of the previous points summed up in Titus 2:3-5. All these things are done so that the word of God is not blasphemed. That means loving and obeying your husband, loving your children (and yes that means using the rod Proverbs 13:24), and being a keeper at home.

The first that was first used in this post says:

Psalms 111:10 KJV The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Therefore, a woman of good understanding will not have a job outside of being a keeper at home. It is simply not possible to be a keeper and work another job. It is foolish to think so. And please do not think that being a keeper at home is just a housekeeper. You can still keep the house clean and work a job...you can hire maids, etc. It will be very difficult, but could be possible. However, that is not what being a keeper at home is. There is much more to it. It cannot be done unless you are AT HOME.

For example, can the keeper of the sheep leave his sheep for 5-8 hours? No, surely the wolf, bear, or lion will come into the flock. Or otherwise the sheep will be scattered. What about the keeper of the prison? If the prison guard left his post for another 9-5 job what would happen to the prisoners? I mean this keeper of the prison only fell asleep and he was ready to kill himself!

Acts 16:27 KJV And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

A woman of good understanding will take her job as keeper at home just as serious!!

IN THE WORLD

James 4:4 KJV Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Our conversation in the world does matter a whole lot for the testimony of Christ. This world is filled will perverseness and when we walk before others we should let Christ shine through us.

II Corinthians 4:2 KJV But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
I Timothy 2:9 KJV In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Women of God need to take care to be sober, and dress modestly. It will be noticed by others. There are to many "Christian" women that I have seen dressed with less then what a biblical harlot would wear. These women are adorning themselves with shame and it ought not to be so with any woman professing Christ!

II Timothy 2:19 KJV Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

These few points will be a good start for any woman of understanding. However, if you do not have the fear of the Lord none of these will stand in your life. It all begins with the fear of the LORD.
