CHARITY Is Greater Than...

This is the start to a new series looking at charity and defining it through the word of God. The worlds definition for a thing sometimes varies from the way God defines a thing. This leads to mistakes and cause people to not understanding the word of God. Kind of the same way as people make the error in saying the KJV is old English, its not, old English was from the 11th century not the 17th. The KJV is God's English not mans English. And so some of the use of words, like charity, have a different understanding in the word of God than according to mans understanding.
With charity in the focus for this right now just consider how most would understand that word today. How it is thought to be giving or having a charitable donation. But then read this...

1 Corinthians 13:3 KJV  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

So according to the word of God: someone can give and bestow possessions to help others, (doing alms deeds), but not have charity.
So what then is charity according to the word of God?
