Corrupted Bibles: New King James Version (NKJV)
2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
Jeremiah 23:36 And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
The perverting of scripture has been done for a long time. When man decides that the word of God does not fit his desires, he changes it.
Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Proverbs 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
The New King James Version is supposed to update the KJV with easier to read English. However, the NKJV is one such of these corrupted bible versions. Don't just take my word for it. Let's look at some the errors and scripture perversions this bible presents to the reader. Is this the word of God or is it not? Things that are different are not the same.
(NKJV)
Titus 3:10 Reject a divisive man after the first and second [a]admonition,
(compared to)
(KJV)
Titus 3:10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
The error with the NKJV interpretation is understood when you read other scripture. This next verse is from the NKJV and it is the words of Jesus Christ.
(NKJV)
Luke 12:51 Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.
According to the NKJV, the reader should reject Jesus Christ, because he is a divisive man. This error should make anyone who fears God to tremble. The KJV does not contain this error, because it contains the pure and perfect words of the living God. The KJB is not the private interpretation of man's wisdom.
Here is another error that the NKJV contains within its pages.
(NKJV)
Exodus 6:2 And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the Lord.
(NKJV)
Exodus 6:3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name Lord I was not known to them.
This verse makes the LORD a liar in the NKJV. Why? Because the LORD God was known by his name LORD to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Even in the NKJV this is confirmed to be true.
(NKJV)
Genesis 4:26 And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.
(NKJV)
Genesis 15:7 And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
The NKJV contains contradictions and hypocrisy. Here is the what the KJV says in Exodus 6:3.
(KJV)
Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
The Lord's name is JEHOVAH and was not known to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The KJB contains no contradictions or hypocrisy as shown by these two instances.
The NKJV also takes away words from scripture.
(NKJV)
1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: ___ that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
(KJV)
1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
This doesn't seem like much of a change until you think a little bit. How did Christ die for our sins? He shed his blood on the cross. Did removing "how" make that passage easier to understand?
The NKJV also removes "thee" "thou" "ye" in an attempt to make the English "easier to understand". The majestic verb endings "est" and "eth" are removed in the NKJV. In changing "ye" to "you" in every instance the clarity of speech and poetic language is destroyed. Consider John 3:5-7:
(KJV)
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
(KJV)
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
(KJV)
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
LOOK and READ the difference in the NKJV.
(NKJV)
John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
(NKJV)
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
(NKJV)
John 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
When the KJB uses "thee", God is speaking to one person. When "you" is used, God is speaking to multiple people. Also, "you" and "ye" are referring to multiple people. Consider John 8:36 -
(KJV)
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Here is another verse comparison you need to pay attention to -
(KJV)
Genesis 9:7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
Or would you rather hear this?
(NKJV)
Genesis 9:7 And as for you, be fruitful and multiply;
Bring forth abundantly in the earth
And multiply in it.”
Which voice has more power? More authority?
(KJB)
Psalm 29:3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
(KJB)
Psalm 29:4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
(KJB)
Job 37:5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
That concludes this study into the corrupted New King James Version. There is no power and authority in this bible and it serves its purpose well - to confuse about the King James Bible. Beware of this bible perversion and stick to the King James Bible. There will be more studies into the corruption of the New King James Version in time to come. This version is more corrupt than I thought at the first.
(KJB)
Psalms 119:31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.
