The Sin Of Envy

Yes envy is a sin, but envy is not Jealousy... to be envious is to desire to be someone else despising them for what they have thinking you should be in their place. Jealousy is to desire and protect what is rightfully yours according to scripture. Such as being jealous over your wife or husband, this is not a bad thing according to scripture. Even God has this jealousy over us that are his, consider Exodus 34:14 KJV.

Remember we should not be so concerned with what another does or has. But we that are saved are each different members in the body of Christ. So we have and do different things.

1 Corinthians 12:17-18 KJV If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? (18) But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

2 Corinthians 10:12 KJV  For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
