How to be a Good Christian Woman
The way that we are a good Christian woman is by fearing the LORD and obeying his commandments. We have many examples of good women in scripture.
The Holy Women of Old Time
I Peter 3:5 KJV For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
We will do well to look back in scripture at the holy woman of old. The patriarch's wife's, especially Sara, give us a good idea on what God expects from a Christian woman.
She calls her husband "lord". This is very common in the Bible. But in today's speech? Not so much. Calling someone "lord" gives them that authority over you while you are subject unto them. (Something our feminist, Vashti-influenced world knows nothing about.) Have you ever noticed how those that go before a judge of law will call the judge "your honor". Or how when speaking with an officer of the law, or military official, saying "yes sir" just seems natural? That is the same way that we should use the word "lord" with our husband. It is agreeing with the order of creation and humbling yourself as the wife, manifesting the authority of our husband as the head.
I Timothy 2:13 KJV For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Titus 2:5 KJV To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Ephesians 5:22 KJV Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
The word of God is clear for instruction on how to be a good Christian woman. It can be easy, but our flesh is what makes it hard. We need to SEE that we obey the scriptures. This is a daily effort in making sure that we diligently keep the scriptures in mind and continually obey them!
Ephesians 5:33 KJV Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
This is the same wording that Moses received when following the pattern for the tabernacle. It is the same wording we have here because it is THAT important and also is the pattern for life.
Exodus 25:40 KJV And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.
Hebrews 8:5 KJV Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
