Jesus & The Father Are The Same Man

Jesus & The Father Are The Same Man

There is a lot to be covered when talking about a matter like this. Nonetheless with trying to keep things on topic we will focus in on one rebuttal that gainsaying Trinitarians use in John 8:17-18. The simple answer for this one is that the witness of God singular is greater than the witness of men plural.

But for the sake of things here lets outline what they say and then look at the context of this rebuttal.

First what the Trinitarians use:

John 8:17-18 KJV  It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.  (18)  I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

which in all fairness it would seem as though Jesus is alluding to him and the Father being two different men. But that is with just these verses in the passage. But the full context tells us something different.

Now the context before & after:

..before..
John 8:14 KJV  Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

..after..
John 8:19 KJV  Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

So with what Jesus said before and after what the Trinitarians want to focus on, undoes the dispute in this rebuttal. The word of God says what it means and means what it says.

There are plenty of other verses to look at for a description of God. Such as John 14:6-9 and Colossians 2:8-9, rather than implied meaning verses such as John 8:17-18. Which is completely undone with its surrounding context showing Jesus and the Father are one person, not two separate persons. And yes the Law does say two or three witnesses of men. However, God is one and he is truth his witness is always true. Are you really going to begin to think that if God manifest in the flesh, Jesus, wasn't a separate person that his witness would not be true? That would be ridicules and you would be saying God could lie, which completely goes against scripture (it is impossible for God to lie according to scripture, Hebrews 6:18; Titus 1:2; Romans 3:4).

Understand the following and understand the sum of the matter...

The conclusion:

1 John 5:9 KJV  If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

witness of God = singular
witness of men = plural

1 John 5:7 outlines how the three that bear record in heaven ARE ONE.
1 John 5:8 outlines three that bear witness in earth AGREE IN ONE.

1 John 5:7-8 KJV  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  (8)  And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

witness of God = in heaven = ARE ONE = singular
witness of men = in the earth = agree in one = plural

This is the sum of what we will be covering in this video Bible study.
