Rightly Dividing Dispensations

Rightly Dividing Dispensations

In this study we will talk about the working of Christ through out scripture. And how that our salvation today is a predestined working of Christ; that whosoever believes and calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. And then we will take a walk through scripture to see each of the eight dispensations within their respected area of the word of God.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

And as a key thing for this topic we will look at salvation as stated above. And there are a few passages to understand salvation in God was not always the same nor will it remain the same as it is now.

But right now salvation is in Christ Jesus by grace through faith and not of works.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  (9)  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

If it is of grace it can never have works involved otherwise grace is no more grace even according to the word of God.

Romans 11:6 KJV  And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

This is all a predestined work in the finished work of Christ by his faith to fulfill what he had determined to do in himself for all that come to him in truth. And not a predestination as the Calvinist would teach concerning each individual man. However, the predestination is of the working of God in a thing he had planned before from the beginning.

Ephesians 1:10-12 KJV  That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:  (11)  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:  (12)  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Ephesians 1:19 KJV  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

This is confirmed in the word of God by prophecies and as Christ came, then later as evidence in what is still to come.

Genesis 22:8 KJV  And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Isaiah 53:7 KJV  He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

John 1:29 KJV  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Revelation 5:12 KJV  Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
