Stop Jesting About Hell

There is no fear of God in the hearts of those that jest about hell. They mock and scorn the very place they will be cast into. If you've heard the blasphemy and mocking then consider these scriptures.

Luke 12:5
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Mark 9:47
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

Mark 9:48
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Hell is a place of torment for the dead sinners who never repented of their wickedness while in the land of the living. Hell is a place for the dead! A pit, a place of outer darkness and everlasting fire where there is weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. The doctrine of hell is a grave and sobering doctrine yet false prophets will not treat this doctrine as such. I have even heard a young woman proclaim that Jesus does not cast any one into hell but if they go to hell it is because they did that to themselves. People are deceived and ignorant about the gravity of hell.

Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Remember also that Jesus Christ in his mercy and grace delivered us from the wrath to come. He delivered us from this place of torment and can save anyone who calls upon his name to be saved.

Psalm 86:13
For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

However, knowing the terror of the Lord Jesus is also needed. Jesus Christ is a consuming fire.

Romans 5:9
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.


2 Thessalonians 1:7
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,


2 Thessalonians 1:8
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Hebrews 12:29
For our God is a consuming fire.
