The Queen Of Heaven Is A Devil; Mary Is Not To Be Worshipped According To Scripture
There are two major groups that worship this false heathen god called the queen of heaven. The Catholics and the Orthodox churches, these each teach that the queen of heaven is Mary the mother of Jesus. And this posting will show in scripture how contrary to the word of God such worship truly is.
There are a few false teachings that each group twists the scriptures on in order to condone and justify worshipping an idol of a woman, pray to Mary, even burn incense and offering up other things to her.
Notable false teachings shown to be blatant lies in scripture are...
- Claiming Mary is a perpetual virgin
- Pretending Mary was without sin and holy
- Lifting Mary up as an importance in prayer
To make clear at the start here those who call Mary The Queen Of Heaven are making known they serve a false heathen god according to the word of God. As it is written, Baal worshippers worshipped the queen of heaven.
Jeremiah 7:9-10 & 18 KJV
(9) Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
(10) And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
(18) The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
Aside from this you should not make an idol of anything to pray unto it. Especially not any queen of heaven... You show that you hate God Almighty, and the Lord Jesus Christ if you bow down to any idol especially one of Mary, according to scripture.
Exodus 20:3-5 KJV
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
(4) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
(5) Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Leviticus 26:1 KJV
Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
Leviticus 26:30 KJV
And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
Habakkuk 2:18-19 KJV
What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
(19) Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
This matter of the idolatry is serious, even still the rest of this post expresses the error of worshipping and praying to Mary the mother of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Lord is to be worshipped not his mother, and not through any idol (Acts 17:29 & Colossians 2:8-9), but Jesus Christ is to be worshipped in spirit and in truth (John 4:21-24).
Refuting Point # 1
Was Mary a Perpetual Virgin?
No Mary was not a perpetual virgin. To refute this plainly in scripture, it is written that Jesus had brothers and sisters according to his flesh in Matthew 13:55-56. Joseph knew Mary in marital relations after the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. Meaning she had a few more sons and daughters after Jesus according to scripture. (for context we read Matthew 13:53-56 KJV.)
Matthew 13:53-56 KJV And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence. (54) And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? (55) Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? (56) And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
And aside from this The word of God also tells us Joseph knew not his wife until after Mary had brought forth her first born son in Matthew 1:24-25 KJV.
Matthew 1:24-25 KJV Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: (25) And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
On these two points alone it shows that Mary was not a perpetual virgin. Aside from these things there is the miracle in that a virgin will conceive and give birth as written in Isaiah 7:14. Mary being a virgin indeed brought forth a son as in any other birth just as prophesied. Meaning her virginity was gone through the process of giving birth, Jesus opened the matrix in Mary's womb. There is zero scripture to say otherwise, and so to assume or teach Mary was a virgin still after giving birth is a private interpretation that is added to scripture.
Isaiah 7:14 KJV Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
...
Matthew 1:22-23 KJV Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, (23) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Proverbs 30:6 KJV Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
...
2 Peter 1:20 KJV Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Refuting Point # 2
Was Mary Sinless And Holy To Be Worshiped?
No, Mary was absolutely not without sin. Neither was she in and of herself counted to be holy according to the word of God.
- Mary had sin and made offerings for her sin according to the law.
Luke 2:22-24 KJV And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; (23) (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) (24) And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
... compare for understanding of the law ...
Leviticus 12:2-3 KJV Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. (3) And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
(6) And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
(8) And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
- Mary was not considered to be holy or blessed to be worshipped by the Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 11:27-28 KJV And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. (28) But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
If Mary the mother of Jesus was to be considered for something top be worshipped by God, don't you think there would be some instruction within the word of God for it? But all they have to worship Mary is what is taught by the precepts and commandments of men.
Colossians 2:20-22 KJV Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not; (22) Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Refuting Point # 3
Should Mary Be Prayed To?
Absolutely not! Mary was no more another person that had to fear God and pray to him the same as all others. There is only one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus who is the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
1 Timothy 2:5 KJV For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
And with Jesus being the fullness of the Godhead bodily. We are built up in Christ Jesus by Christ Jesus the Lord not any other. No matter how good something might sound we should not allow ourselves to become spoiled by philosophy to no longer trust solely on the one that has rooted and built us up in the faith... Christ Jesus the Lord!
Colossians 2:6-10 KJV As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: (7) Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. (8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (9) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (10) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Why should anyone ever pray unto a woman, if even that woman gave birth to Emmanuel ( being interpreted, God with us), If it is Jesus Christ who builds us up in God and is our only mediator to God?
Lastly Mary lived a life as a widow toward the end of her life and was nothing to be glorified by any of the apostles. But it was John who did care for her in her widowhood according to scripture. And we know this, for why else would she have to go to another's house to be cared for? Which this does raise the other question as to how long was she widowed for before this point. Regardless, without any absolutes, we dare not risk spread a Jewish fable without clarity in the word of God. So all we can conclude is that she was a widow in the following passage of scripture.
John 19:25-27 KJV Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. (26) When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! (27) Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
And in this the last we hear of Mary she was praying with everyone else just the same as everyone else, and she was in no way highly lifted up even here...
Acts 1:13-14 KJV And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. (14) These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Might this have straightened out any questions you have faced regarding the false worship of Mary the mother of Jesus.
As at the top here it was pointed out in Jeremiah chapter 7 how Baal worshippers worshipped the queen of heaven. It should not be any surprise that modern day Baal worship is still going on as if being done toward the Lord in the same ways.
And without any doubt, notwithstanding all that is in the word of God to rebuke such a falsehood as worshipping Mary. People will still continue to worship her rather knowingly or unknowingly worshipping a devil. All the same as the children of Israel did in Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 44:1-5 KJV
(1) The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
(2) Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,
(3) Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.
(4) Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
(5) But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.
... But the people did not take heed ...
Jeremiah 44:15-19 KJV
(15) Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
(16) As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.
(17) But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
(18) But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
(19) And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?
The people know the wickedness spoken of in its plainness by Jeremiah then. And they do also know what falsehood it is they do even now. Nevertheless they still chose to follow after the traditions of their fathers and the same is still done today. This is modern day Baal worship. And any who think a Catholic is a brother or sister in Christ is just as guilty as such abominations in overlooking such abominations done in the name of the Lord Christ Jesus our Saviour.
