Understanding the Godhead

Understanding the Godhead

The word of God means what it says and says what it means. This is the number one thing to understand when reading the word of God. When it comes to the matter of the Trinity, a triune God. Or the Godhead, one Almighty God. having faith in the word of God to say what it means is immensely important.

When the word of God never once refers to God as "PERSONS" plural, or as a triune God. Then it is an imagination of man implied to the word of God through the wisdom of men.
Just consider this also...
The first mention of the capital "F" Father in reference to God is in a prophecy about Jesus Christ the Lord.

Isaiah 9:6 KJV  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

There are plenty of descriptive passages about the Lord GOD. Such as John 14:6-9, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Colossians 2:8-9, Revelation 1:17-18... Just check this out...

Isaiah 44:6 KJV  Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Revelation 1:17-18 KJV  And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:  (18)  I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

If the LORD the only God is the first and the last, and some would separate the Father from the Son in Isaiah 44. When did the father die, becomes the question... The thing is that parts of God are all one, not separate persons...

And even 1 John 5:7 as trinitarians try to falsely us to say three in one, but it says "these three ARE one". And with this even if you look at all the "himself" passages, understand that yes God is only one himself. All those passages do not actually have a description of God and his person, but implications are made to those passages to force something onto scripture that is just not there.

Even if you want to go to Genesis 1:26, well read verse 27 also. Let alone consider it is only one IMAGE not IMAGES in verse 26. It is a private interpretation taught after the wisdom of men to say the LORD is a triune God in three separate persons. It is only ever implied to scripture to say such a thing... If we are truly faithful to God, then we ought to take heed to the MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY not the words which mans wisdom teaches.

2 Peter 1:19-20 KJV  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:  (20)  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

So if you want to hang your hat on philosophy implied to scripture, rather than the word of God... Well then you are willingly leaning your ladder up the wrong tree following after another Jesus that is only the second person of God. But the Lord Jesus Christ of scripture is second to none.
