What Does "Constant" Mean in the KJB?
Proverbs 21:28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
Yet another word in the KJB that is powerful but has a different sense in this "modern" time. When I thought of the word "constant" or "constantly" I thought of someone who could not stop speaking. For example, "He is constantly bothering me with questions". This way of using constantly is close to the meaning in the KJB, but is not quite the same.
To be "constant" in something is to continue to do it without being distracted. You won't turn from the path that is set before you. You are going to be determined, resolute, and fixed on what it is you have to do or say.
If you do not come to the King James Bible with sobriety and believe it is the word of God, the word meanings will not make sense to you. God is the King of all the earth, and his words are powerful. Hold the word of God with gravity, do not lightly esteem it, and then word meanings will not change in your mind.
In this video, I explain by comparing scripture with scripture the meaning of the word "constant" and the adverb "constantly". Allow the word of God to speak for itself and follow along in your own King James Bible as you watch this video.
