'Tis a prize well worth the win-ning:
One be-yond all oth-ers far;
So thou thought-est when be-gin-ning
In the mor-tal strife to share.
Then didst thou es-teem the cross
Wealth in-deed - all else but lost.

Thou hast sinned, but know the Lord is
Will-ing all to par-don still;
Sweet and full of grace his word is,
Let him come, who-ev-er will;
Man-y won-ders here are found,
Broth-er, this is ho-ly ground.

Here is all that thou hast need of,
That which takes thy sin a-way;
But in time to come take heed of
That which led thee far a-stray.
E-vil shun, and e-vil men,
Nev-er leave the Lord a-gain.
