Who Is Gog And Magog?

Who Is Gog And Magog?

So in this study we see simply who is Gog and Magog according to scripture. We will start in Revelation 21 and then look at Ezekiel 38 as well as Genesis 10, to see who these people are. And afterwards we will clarify who they are not. Just check this out for simplicity in the word of God.

Genesis 10:1-5 KJV  Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.  (2)  The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.  (3)  And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.  (4)  And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.  (5)  By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

So just with this passage alone we can see plainly that Magog makes up many of the gentiles. And the word of God also tells us Gog is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal in Ezekiel 39:1. So Gog and Magog are the gentile descendants of Japheth, And their descendants will be those in the thousand year reign as in Revelation 20:8.

To state plainly according to scripture, there will be both gentiles and Jews in the thousand year reign of Christ who are not the saints... consider the following, paying attention to words like "LORD of host in Jerusalem" also "all languages of the nations"...

Zechariah 8:22-23 KJV Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD. (23) Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

And also as the gentiles hold the skirt of a Jew to be shown God. There is this following passage about the thousand year reign of Christ, dealing with the same descendants of Japheth. As in Genesis 10:2-5...

Isaiah 66:18-19 KJV  For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.  (19)  And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

This was a more simple study then thought out to be. Once getting into it the simplicity was in letting the word of God say what it means, without implying some secret meaning. Yet as simple as it became it was very edifying and insightful for me personally to put together. And it strengthened my faith to simply receive the word of God at face value. I hope it is edifying for you as well. At the end of it as I often say, the word of God means wat it says and says what it means. So turn in your King James Bible as we begin this video Bible study.
