Whom Shall I Fear?
Proverbs 29:25
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
What reasons do we as Christians have to fear man?
Are you living righteously according to the will of God?
Are you preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ without contention or strife?
Are you submitting yourself to the laws and ordinances of the powers that be?
There are times where fearful situations arise while doing the work of the ministry.
Men may rise up against you, and speak blasphemously and reproachfully. Men may threaten your life with carnal weapons and vain words. However, in all of this (if you are suffering according to the will of God) we have a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who also suffered the same things.
1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
1 Peter 3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. He will deliver you from the snare of men, from every evil work.
2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
2 Timothy 3:11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
