Yahweh is Not JEHOVAH
In this world there are certain groups of people and traditions of men who claim that the name of God is "Yahweh" according to their tradition. They profess that this name was found in ancient manuscripts that come before the manuscripts leading up to the King James Bible. This statement is now taught as fact in colleges and universities and some bible perversions use the name of Yahweh in the place of "LORD" and "JEHOVAH".
Where did this name come from? And why is it only in recent years that this name has been proclaimed? What saith the scripture? Open up your King James Bible and be ready to turn the pages. If you read in your King James Bible starting in Genesis you will find a few names of God.
Genesis 2:4 ¶ These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
Genesis 14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
(speaking to Abraham) Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
(Isaac speaking) Genesis 28:3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;
(speaking to Jacob) Genesis 35:11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
(Now in the books of Exodus and Psalms)
Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
Psalms 68:4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
The name of God has never changed. God has revealed his name at different times. The name of God was revealed to be JEHOVAH in Exodus 6:3. This name is used four times in the scriptures (Exodus 6:3, Psalm 83:18, Isaiah 12:2, Isaiah 26:4). God has revealed more of his names throughout the scriptures. The name of God many people know to day is the name of JESUS. Jesus is the name of the Lord God.
(Jesus speaking) John 5:43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Now you know what the scriptures say. The word of God has proclaimed the name of the LORD, the Lord God, the LORD God, JEHOVAH, JAH, and JESUS. Not once did God ever tell the Israelites to call his name "Yahweh" or "Yah". The reason men in the world to day proclaim the name of "Yah" or "Yahweh" is because they have an idol. They reject the word of God to keep their tradition and follow the wisdom of men more than what God has said.
1 Corinthians 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
The conclusion of the whole matter is this. If you have faith in the King James Bible you know that the name of God is JEHOVAH. Any other name that is said to be the name of God is a lie. That is an idol, a god. The Israelites also followed other gods besides the LORD God, JEHOVAH.
Judges 2:13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
There is a connection with "Yahweh" being another name for "Baal". Here at the end I have linked a couple videos and playlists that are about the name of God.
