Young Man, Humble Thyself
This study is a continuance of a series of videos I have already started for young men. First, I studied out 1 Timothy 4:12 and how that young men can be an example of the believers. Then, I presented a couple other studies on various topics for young men. I need to explain one video, which is "Young Men, Be Obedient to Your "masters", in regards to "What is a servant in scripture?", but that will be in time to come.
The King James Bible exalts and honours the Lord Jesus Christ and puts man in a lower state. You will see this all over the holy scriptures if you search them. For example:
Job 25:6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?
Genesis 18:27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:
The Lord Jesus is the high and lofty One. He is the One who is worthy to receive all glory, honour, wisdom, thanks, and praise.
Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Psalms 138:6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
And so, young men should not think of themselves as being great or having such great knowledge especially among the body of Christ. A young man should know where his wisdom and understanding comes from - the Lord Jesus Christ. In this video I cover four main points that young men should be humble in.
- Preaching the gospel
- Seeing spiritual growth/sanctification in your life
- Amongst the brethren
- Towards elders
I am praying that these studies reach young men who are desiring to please God and need instruction from scripture on how to do so. Take the time to search the scriptures in the King James Bible and start obeying them today. Be a doer of the word and not a hearer only.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
